Cedar Springs Waldorf School

We are an independent Waldorf school offering programs from Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Founded in 1989, Cedar Springs is a Full Member Waldorf school accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA). Positioned in a natural setting, away from the hustle and bustle of urban living and yet just minutes from Highway 50, our school is a desirable locale for many families in El Dorado County and its surrounding areas.

Dedicated to providing quality instruction to each child, our maximum class size in First through Eighth Grades is 24 children. Smaller class sizes are a hallmark of our Kindergartens, which also have assistants to best support the needs and rhythms of the younger child.

Our Board of Trustees, College of Teachers, Administration and Parent Guild work closely together to ensure that our school is running efficiently and effectively to provide the best and most meaningful experience for our students and their families.

From the humble beginnings of our first Kindergarten classroom in a family’s barn, we now have thriving programs ranging from Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade and serve nearly 180 students on our five-acre campus.

Our alumni go on to excel at high schools such as Sacramento Waldorf School, El Dorado, Ponderosa, Union Mine, Oak Ridge, as well as other public and private high schools in the area. High School Faculty and Administrators continually notice and are impressed with our student body’s unique thirst for knowledge, ability to think critically and developed social skills.
